- New Member Contact List for Club Tablet A new digital Member Contact List is now available on the club tablet, replacing the previous paper contact list on the notice board. The tablet-only page displays all club members with their name, telephone number, email address, and membership type. This is a dynamic, real-time system that pulls member data directly from the club's Google Sheet via a secure, encrypted connection using Google's API with service account authentication — ensuring member information is always up to date without any manual updates. Members can search by name, phone, email, or membership type, and filter by membership type using buttons for All, Outdoor, Indoor, Social, Junior, Life, and Pro-rata. The Indoor filter shows only Indoor-only members (e.g. "Summer Indoor Only" and "New Bowler Indoor Special Offer"), while the Outdoor filter shows Outdoor members including those whose membership includes indoor play (e.g. "Summer Outdoor (includes Indoor)" and "New Bowler Outdoor Special Offer (includes Indoor)"). The list can be sorted by surname (default) or first name using toggle buttons. The contact list is accessible via the tablet's home page and provides a secure, modern alternative to the traditional paper notice board.

- Club Knockout Competitions Now Online Club knockout competitions (e.g. Singles, Pairs, and Triples) can now be viewed online by all members. The new Club Knockout page shows all active knockout competitions with their current status, match scores, and results displayed in a clear table format organised by round (First Round, Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, Final). Administrators can create (and edit/delete) competitions and enter and update match results through the admin dashboard area, including team names (for Pairs and Triples), scores, match status (Scheduled, In Progress, Completed, Walkover, Cancelled), and notes. Members can view knockout ladders from any device — at home, on mobile or on tablets. Traditional paper knockout ladders can still be displayed at the club as usual, but online viewing means members no longer need to visit the club to see who's playing next or check recent results. The Club Knockout link is available in the More... menu item (Useful Links) section of the website.

- Visitors' Book change Added a 'Member who introduced you' field to the visitors book. This is so that we can track who introduced the visitor(s).

- Combined Rink Booking Verification With the recent addition of away match verification and the new summer season including both indoor and outdoor bowling, office administrators previously needed to run four separate reports (indoor home, indoor away, outdoor home, outdoor away) across both sites to generate the printed verification sheets required to check against the contents of the rink payment envelopes. The new Combined Rink Booking Verification Report generates all four reports in one action by pulling rink bookings from both (indoors and outdoors) databases simultaneously. A single verification and print button creates one comprehensive verification report. This saves the office admin volunteers significant time — no more logging into both sites, running four separate queries, and printing multiple pages. The combined report is run from the Indoors (wmbowls.com) site, from the admin level user dashboard.

- Away Matches We've added a new feature to enable the recording of away matches (leagues, friendlies, cups), primarily for admin level users to track and verify if there are any rink fee payments due. The away matches are visible to all members once logged in, a new top level menu item 'Away Matches' will appear. A list of upcoming matches and their date and time are listed, also the matches that have occurred in the last 30 days. The club captains can add a few relevant notes to the matches for all to see, admin level users have a more detailed view and can generate a verification report (similar to the indoor and outdoor rink verification).

- Visitors' Book We’ve introduced a new Visitors’ Book feature to make it easier to record and understand who’s visiting the club.
The Visitors’ Book is now accessible on the club tablet, allowing guests to sign in quickly and share their interests when they arrive.
Members are asked to encourage their visitors to sign the new Visitors’ Book each time they attend. This helps the club keep track of visitor activity, follow up with prospective members, and understand what attracts new interest in the club.
Authorised administrators have access to additional reporting and management tools, including visitor tracking and reporting features that support the club’s ongoing development.

- Summer Indoor Team Names We've added a 'Team Names' functionality to the Indoor rink booking system, so that the main schedule will now display the team names (e.g. Otters, Weasels etc.) in the notes field. This is also matching the Summer 2026 members handbook. Members can click on the highlighted team names in the main schedule (and kiosk) display to show the assigned team members and Captain (C). Team numbers functionality still exists, so they can still be used in the Winter season as before.

- Multi-Booking Cancellation & Notes Editor We've added powerful new features to make managing your bookings faster and more convenient!
Bulk Cancellation Made Easy:
- Need to cancel multiple provisional bookings? Simply tick the "✓ Select this booking" box next to each booking you want to cancel
- A new action bar appears showing your selection count
- Click "Cancel Selected" to remove all chosen bookings in one go
- You'll receive separate email confirmations for each cancelled booking
In-Line Notes Editor:
- Add or update notes for any booking directly from your "My Bookings" page
- Simply click on the notes field (or "Click to add notes...") to start editing
- Type your notes (30 character limit) and save with one click or press Enter
- Changes save instantly without page reload

- Book Next Slot Feature Fixed a bug in the new feature that was added November 12, 2025. The bookings were made successfully on the system, but the confirmation email that was sent for the second (next) slot showed a booking date of 01/01/1970 (that's a timestamp of 0 in UNIX). The key issue was that we were not tracking which time slot goes with which booking ID when multiple time slots were booked in a single transaction.

We've implemented a new temperature and humidity monitoring system to assist the club administration in managing the building environment more effectively.

This system provides admin level users with detailed historical and graphical reports to help optimize air conditioning settings and maintain consistent playing conditions on the rinks, contributing to both member comfort and preservation of the bowls hall and carpet.

- Book Next Slot Feature We've added a convenient new feature to make booking consecutive time slots easier! When booking a rink, if the next available time slot is free, you'll now see an option to book both your selected slot and the following one together. This saves you time by allowing you to secure back-to-back sessions in a single step. The feature is available to all members and helps streamline the booking process for longer playing sessions. Simply check the "Also book next time slot" box during your booking to use this time-saving option.

- Club Tablet Shows Bookings Sooner: We've improved how often the club tablet checks for new bookings. Any interaction with the club tablet and the schedule was refreshed immediately, but if it was left alone without touching it (view only), the tablet didn't refresh the schedule display. Now it updates every 2 minutes (if left idle), so any rink you book on your phone will be reflected on the tablet almost immediately.

- Rink and Member Usage Report Admin users can now generate reports and graphs of the rink and member usage. These can be set to any 'from' and 'to' date, each column can be sorted by clicking on the column header. The reports are displayed online within the browser and can also be exported and printed as PDF format. They are best viewed on a PC/tablet but they can also be viewed on a mobile device and viewed by 'stretching' the screen or viewing in landscape. These reports will become more useful as the season progresses and can be compared to different months (and eventually years!).

- Indoor Rink Time Slots To allow for more 1 hour time slots, especially for members wanting 'rollups' in the late afternoon, a change was made to the existing 2hr time slot of 16:30-18:30 (same as the rink bell setting) to become two 1hr time slots 16:00-17:00 and 17:00-18:00. This is now the same as the hardcopy rinkbook and therefore the same as last winter season 24-25. It doesn't affect any league matches, this time was just for rollups and other matches etc.. The rink bell timings may now be changed.

- Rink Verification For admin level users, changed the rink verification printed sheets so that the column marked 'Username' is changed instead to a column name 'member name'.
We now can print the 'real' name of a member instead of their username, just for this report and not anywhere else (for security and privacy). It is because it is easier to track payments by
members on the envelopes when they write their actual name, especially in some cases where the date is accidentally written incorrectly on the envelope. In pre-filled league and rollup bookings, the 'member name' column will still show the type of league or rollup.

- Bulk Booking Enhancement: Added the functionality for admin level users to bulk book the entire kitchen or lounge for the day, this is the same function that already existed in the general release for booking the rinks.
A couple of admin users had requested this enhancement, otherwise they needed to make multiple (single) bookings.

- Double Booking Fix: Improved booking system to prevent duplicate submissions.
Now when you click "Confirm Booking", the button will change to "Processing..." -
please click only once and wait for confirmation. This issue was most likely to appear on a slow internet connection. The user was able to click the 'Confirm Booking' button more than once, now the button is disabled whilst 'Processing' is shown.
